SupercomputingAsia 2024’s (SCA 2024) call for abstracts is now open. Typically held in Singapore, SCA 2024 is coming to Sydney, Australia from 19-22 February 2024. This is is the first time SCA is being held outside of Asia and is being co-organised by leading supercomputing centres of the region, anchored by the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) in Australia.

NeSI has a brilliant opportunity for a research computing professional to lead our national Researcher Support Team. You will take on overall management and operational responsibility for the team and its performance.Acting as NeSI’s overarching support coordination and escalation point, you will ensure researcher support maintains high levels of researcher satisfaction, whilst identifying unmet needs and closing researcher feedback loops across teams within NeSI.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the efforts to build an initial macro view of research data in Aotearoa.We were very excited to share preliminary results with contributing institutions earlier this month, discussing the shared pain in completing the exercise and early insights gained.
In July 1998, a workshop was held at Los Alamos National Laboratory to teach researchers how to work more effectively with their data. Today, 25 years later, the idea behind that workshop has grown into The Carpentries -- an international community buiding capacity in essential data and computational skills for conducting efficient, open, and reproducible research.
