The Carpentries Instructor Training 2024: Now Accepting Applications
The Carpentries is a global program to teach foundational computational and data management skills to researchers. New Zealand trains several potential Carpentries Instructor trainees every year and it is time to train a new cohort of future instructors.
Our next Carpentries Instructor training course will be held virtually on March 5,6,7 and 8 from 2pm to 6pm NZT.
How to apply
To be considered for Carpentries Instructor training, fill out an expression of interest by 29 February, 2024
Selected candidates will receive a confirmation email in early March.
If you have already submitted an EOI for this year, you need not resubmit.

If you are unable to attend the training session in early 2024, please use the expression of interest form to apply for future instructor training sessions in the year.
What's involved
If you are interested in raising digital literacy in Aotearoa New Zealand by running local workshops (wherever you are based nationally), this training is for you!
This training session aims to achieve the following goals:
Introduce you to evidence-based best-practices of teaching.
Teach you how to create a positive environment for learners at your workshops.
Provide opportunities for you to practice and build your teaching skills.
Help you become integrated into the Carpentries community.
Prepare you to use these skills in teaching Carpentries workshops.
