From 25-28 August 2024, the second annual Indigidata Aotearoa Wānanga was hosted by Te Kotahi Research Institute (TKRI) in partnership with NeSI, Victoria University of Wellington, Time-evolving Data Science and Artificial Intelligence for Advanced Open Environmental Science (TAIAO), Genomics Aotearoa and the Tikanga in Technology research program.
From 2-4 Sept, as part of the Antarctic Science Platform's (ASP) 2024 Winter School, NeSI team members helped build the computational research skills of early career researchers from New Zealand universities and Crown Research Institutes (CRIs).
Over the last six years, as part of a partnership to build and diversify digital skill capabilities for genomics researchers across New Zealand, NeSI and Genomics Aotearoa have worked with researchers to deliver a Metagenomics Summer School at Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland.

Researchers at the University of Chicago are examining how high performance computer (HPC) users and facilities can reduce the amount of energy they consume. As part of this work, they are looking for participants for a survey on the energy awareness of HPC.Anyone who uses HPC resources is eligible to participate, so we are sharing the details with our HPC community in Aotearoa New Zealand.
