Akber expands our cloud and DevOps expertise and capabilities in Auckland.
Akber Mohammed, Senior HPC Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer
Akber has joined the NeSI team at Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland as a Senior HPC Cloud DevOps Platform Engineer.
Prior to this role, he served as a Senior Technology Consultant at HPE, contributing significantly to the management and support of Saudi Aramco's remarkable supercomputer, Ghawar-1.
Akber holds a Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering and began his career as a Systems Engineer at King Fahd University in Saudi Arabia, managing the HPC, Cloud, and DevOps environments. Over his 11-year tenure there, he led several HPC/infrastructure projects and played a crucial role in the university's digital transformation program.
Driven by a passion for leveraging his skills and expertise to create meaningful change, Akber eagerly anticipates contributing to his new role.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Akber enjoys playing squash and soccer and cherishes spending quality time with family and friends.
