Submission deadline for Te Ara Paerangi - Future Pathways consultation extended to 16 March 2022

The Ministry for Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) has extended its submission deadline Te Ara Paerangi Future Pathways, a programme consulting on a range of issues facing the research, science and innovation (RSI) system. 

Submissions has been extended by 2 weeks and will now close on 16 March 2022.

MBIE's consultation aims to:

  • better identify and deliver on research priorities
  • improve collaboration between institutions
  • understand how the workforce is supported, developed and funded
  • ensure the RSI system is set up to understand and respond to Te Tiriti opportunities.

This conversation highlights the challenges faced in having high impact research infrastructure, and this among other things is an issue near and dear to NeSI. If there's anything you’d like to discuss or explore with NeSI related to Te Ara Paerangi, please get in touch with NeSI Director Nick Jones.

Upcoming consultation workshops

Due to New Zealand’s move to the Red setting of the traffic light system, the previously planned in-person regional workshops are beign moved online. While gatherings of 100 are permitted, moving to online sessions will help enable more people to safely participate in the next stage of consultation engagements.

Arrangements are underway to transition the workshops to an online format. More information will be shared as soon as possible.
