Survey launched to gain insights into New Zealand and Australian Research Software Engineer communities
Do you create or maintain software for research? Then you may be a Research Software Engineer (RSE).
To understand the RSE community globally, the RSE Association of Australia and New Zealand (RSE-AUNZ) are collaborating with the Software Sustainability Institute (UK) and various national RSE organisations to run a survey of RSEs across Australia and New Zealand. You can complete the 2021 RSE survey in English, French, German or Spanish. The survey closes on Jan 14, 2022.
The RSE-AUNZ Steering Committee ran the RSE survey for the first time in 2018 and had more than 130 responses across Australia and New Zealand. Participants from then are encouraged to complete the survey again, as this will help identify any changes or trends over time. You can see the analysis of the 2018 survey here and the open, anonymised datasets along with comparisons to the previous surveys are described here.
New members of the RSE community are encouraged to participate so that RSE-AUNZ can learn more about who you are and the work you do, which helps them advocate for the community.
Please help increase participation in this survey by distributing it to your colleagues and collaborators!
