NZ Carpentries Community Call 3: Reflecting on Instructor Training
On Tuesday October 15th from 12:30-1:30pm NZDT New Zealand will have its third Carpentries community discussion of 2019!
The Carpentries project comprises the Software Carpentry, Data Carpentry, and Library Carpentry communities who share a mission to teach foundational computational and data management skills to researchers.
The upcoming call will give community members a chance to reflect on the pedagogy that motivates Carpentries instructors, instructor trainees, and supporters. While the exact conversation will be shaped by attendees during the call, we are likely to discuss:
- The process of instructor training check-out, (what would make it easier?),
- What practices are hard to remember while teaching, and
- Favourite teaching tips and tricks from the community
As always, critiques, comments, and questions are welcome at these community calls. If you are a Carpentries Instructor/Helper/Learner/Community Member, want to run your own Carpentries Workshops, or just want to know more about The Carpentries, you are encouraged to come along to the call.
