There's still time to participate in the 2021 Research Software Engineer (RSE) international survey
The 2021 Research Software Engineer (RSE) international survey has ~11 responses from the community in New Zealand so far and 599 responses globally.
In 2018, New Zealand had 49 responses. The RSE-AUNZ Steering Committee want to reach or surpass that number this year, so please help spread the word and encourage anyone who creates or maintains software for research to participate.
There is still time to have your say as the survey closes on 28 February 2022.

With just a few weeks left to participate in the 2021 survey, communities in Germany (180 responses), the UK (120 responses) and the USA (110 responses) have the top 3 response rates so far.
This survey is a collaboration with the Software Sustainability Institute (UK) and various other national RSE organisations around the world.
The insights gained from this survey are incredibly useful to understand who our community in this region is and what their interests are. The results of the 2018 survey can be found here along with the open, anonymised datasets and comparisons to the previous surveys are described here.
For those who are new members of the RSE community, we urge you to participate as we want to know who you are and the work you do. This will help us further in advocating for our community. Please help us increase participation in this survey by distributing it to your colleagues and collaborators that may function as RSEs (but may not be on our mailing list).
Please feel free to contact the Steering committee with any further questions at steering-committee@rse-aunz.org. We look forward to having you participate and sharing the findings from the survey with you.
