NeSI Software Carpentry workshop at Massey University
NeSI and Massey University joined together in June 2016 to present a Software Carpentry workshop at Massey's Palmerston North campus. According to the trainers, "this was a very successful workshop with almost 40 attendants, organised and presented by a mixed team of new and more experienced instructors. The participants were very responsive and there was a lot of learning happening for the attendees and for instructors. The feedback was mostly positive and the negative feedback was very constructive." Read more...
Winter Bootcamp is coming!
Winter Bootcamp is a week long training and education event co-ordinated by the Centre for eResearch at the University of Auckland from July 11 to 15, where you can upskill in a whole host of topics related to digital research practice. Workshops and seminars range from two-day intensive and hands-on Software Carpentry programmes for general audiences, through to short informational or networking sessions. Georgina Rae joined NeSI as our Engagement Manager in November last year and Aleksandra Pawlik joined the NeSI team as Research Communities Manager this month.

Informed by the collection of CVs from more than 2,300 Canadian faculty members who are active Compute Canada (CC) users, Compute Canada has embarked on an analysis of CC-enabled publications by those faculty members. CC-enabled publications are seen to be well above both the world and Canadian average scientific impact across a broad range of disciplines. Read more...
