Report on the Research Bazaar

ResBaz is a researcher training conference series as well as a social event where researchers can come together to network, make new friends, and form collaborations.

Sung Bae and John Rugis from NeSI's Computational Science team attended the Software Carpentry instructor training course held before ResBaz. During this three-day course, 45 attendees from Australia and New Zealand learned about a wide range of topics including educational psychology, instructional design and practical teaching techniques. Participants were given teaching exercises and delivered a teaching session to attendees and to Greg Wilson, the Software Carpentry Foundation founder. On returning to NZ, Sung and John were well prepared to deliver successful workshops in Christchurch and Auckland earlier this month.

ResBaz is becoming an annual event - if you're interested in holding an event in 2016, get in touch as we'd love to see what we can do to help: events@nesi.org.nz
