Call for Access to national HPC facilities

Applications open 5-16 November

In November NeSI has a national call for proposals to our research allocation class. A research allocation provides access onto our national HPC facilities for peer-reviewed research projects - see our website for eligibility criteria.

Note: To evaluate the appropriateness of NeSI's facilities to support your research, apply for small allocations via the proposal development allocation class at any time.

Expert support available for your Research project

NeSI has highly skilled experts on our team and you can reques their contributions to your project within a Research allocation. As well as all Research allocations having a named Advisor to support your work, we are very interested in working with research groups to increase the scalability of your codes, thus enhancing the performance of software running on our HPC facilities. Our Experts are keen and able to collaborate with you over the life of an approved project, to improve the operation of your HPC codes. Assistance for Research Sector Funding Rounds

The Science and Innovation Group of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has recently announced the timetable for the 2013 Science Investment Round.

If you wish to generate preliminary evidence to support applications, the NeSI proposal development allocation class is a perfect way to test your codes and size your needs for a project.

NeSI is hiring: 6 positions open in Christchurch and Wellington

We are growing our team. We have 6 positions open covering High Performance Computing and eScience services, including researcher consultation and support, system administration and engineering. The successful staff will be significant contributors to increasing NeSI's depth of experience and skills to support New Zealand research communities.

AMN-6 Sixth International Conference on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology 2013

AMN-6 Sixth Annual Conference on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology 2013 will be held at The University of Auckland in February. NeSI will be there as an exhibitor. We look forward to being able available to answer any queries you may have or talk about how to support your research.

New Zealand Open Source Awards 2012

New Zealand Open Source Awards (NZOSA) 2012 will be held on the 7th of November. NeSI is the inaugural sponsor of the Open Science category, which has been established to recognise the achievements of New Zealand efforts to openly build collaborative scientific knowledge.
