New Platforms User Training - Online Session
This session is intended for researchers located in cities/regions that won't have an in-person session, or for those who can't attend the in-person session as scheduled.
These sessions will be introductory and cover the basics of getting started on NeSI's new platforms - Mahuika and Māui.
Example topics in this new platforms training include:
Important changes from the old platforms
Accessing the machines
Data transfer and file systems
Finding installed software
Submitting jobs with Slurm
Building code
These training materials will also be documented and available on Github and linked to a new User Support portal for reference and self-serve support. An overview of the proposed training curriculum can be found on the NeSI website.
Pre-requisite knowledge:
This training is targeted at existing users who will be moving projects from the old platforms (Pan and Kupe) onto the new platforms (Mahuika and Māui). A base level of knowledge around how to use NeSI HPC resources is expected. This is not an 'Introduction to Using NeSI' session. If you require an introduction to using NeSI for HPC, please contact support@nesi.org.nz.
Note for Kupe Users:
This training will be very similar to the training Kupe users received last year when they moved from FitzRoy to Kupe. The new Māui platform is very similar to Kupe, so few, if any, changes in operation & environment are expected for Kupe users.
