Seminar: "Understanding and Accessing the New Zealand eScience Infrastructure"
Researchers interested in using enhancing their research are invited to attend a technical seminar this Thursday. NeSI's aim is to help you understand what high performance computing is, what is available to you and how your work will benefit from it. Participation is invited from all researchers and staff supporting research, irrespective of host institution or discipline.
We will have staff from Centre of eResearch, BlueFern and The University of Auckland presenting. We're also hoping to include a presentation from NIWA via video conference.
The seminar will be in two parts, commencing at 12:30pm. The first 50 minutes will be made up of small presentations about NeSI, the facilities and the processes for gaining access and support. There will be a second portion from 1:30pm-3:00pm that will be much more interactive. It will be a hands-on tutorial with the facilities, designed at increasing researchers' familiarity. During this portion, NeSI will also have several staff facilitating small discussions about researchers' ideas. Attendees are welcome to participate in either or both of the seminar's parts.
